Brighton

At the end of March ( Yes, I know I'm still behind schedule but shhh) Meret, Marine and I finally went to Brighton!
As Meret had to babysit in the evening, we got up very early and caught the train around 7AM and arrived in Brighton around 10PM - Sunday traffic is horrible (even in the morning)!!!

Anyways, we immediately walked into town and took a look into this beautiful city. Brighton is full of small, cute shops and small alleys lead to more vintage shops!

Furthermore, we visited the Royal Pavilion; a royal resident that turned into a public attraction. It is remarkable for its Indi-Oriental appearance. However, we did not go inside as the weather was beautiful and we wanted to enjoy the - for once - sunny weather.
In front of the maginificent building was a small park where lots of students as well as tourist were relaxing or having a small picnic.

Afterwards we finally went to the beach. Well, you can not really call it a "beach"; however, Meret and I were keen on seeing the ocean again. And I can just say how awesome it was listening to the waves and enjoyed the salty smell of the water.

Near to the West Pier, there is a fishing museum as well as many other shops. These "houses" are artist's workshops. Therefore it is not surprising that it is called "The Artist's Quarter".
Moreever, there are a number of trendy bars at the promenade as well as cafes and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the view.

West Pier was built in 1866. After many renovations, the final building was completed in 1916 and it was a graceful concert hall.
In March 2003, however, the West Pier was destroyed by a fire and since then it wasn't restored. Some people want it to be restored, whereas others are against it. I personally am against it as I quite like it the way it is now.

Anyways, after spending a few hours at the beach and eating Fish and Chips, we decided to visit the famous Brighton Pier.

Brighton Pier is the connection with the sea. Also, it has attractions such as restaurants and games for all family members. They have multiple activities during the year, so you never feel bored there.

Unfortunately we did not stay there for a long time, as we had to catch the train back home in the early evening. We still were quite tired but Brighton is such a lovely city, I think I've fallen in love with it.

I recommend everybody to go to Brighton; not only because of the sea and the pier, but also because of the city itself and the beautiful architectures!

I will definitely miss Brighton a lot!

Cooking & Teenage Cancer Trust

At the end of March we decided to meet up and have a nice evening at my friend's house Marine. Justyna and I visited her in the afternoon with two bottles of wine and cooked pasta together.

No, I am not drunk, I was singing..

And let me kiss youuu ☺

It is always so nice to just sit together with your friends and talk and laugh. For me, this is good quality time. After all, you will not stay here together and the time will come, when you have to say goodbye to all your friends here.

While Marine was cooking pasta - she didn't let us help her - Justyna and I decided to put on some nice music and dance and sing along. As both of us like a certain boyband Marine does not like, we turned up the volume and annoyed our lovely friend. Needless to say she was not happy but still let us have our fun because she loves us sooo much (I know you do, Marine ^^).

Me braiding Justyna's beautiful hair.

Sunset in Farnborough..

After eating and helping to put everything in the dishwasher, we decided to go out for a walk and take some pictures as Justyna urgently wanted to change her profile picture.
Even though we didn't do much more, it was one of my favourite days - just because we had fun together.

A few days later, it was teh 24th of March. You may think it was an ordinary Monday, but let me tell you something: it wasn't.

For many years now, it was my wish to go on a Ed Sheeran concert and I am so happy to announce (well, not announce but just tell you^^) that this year, it finally became true!

Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity dedicated to young adults with cancer. They bring young people with cancer together so they can be treated together and educate other people about cancer. If you are interested or want to know more about the charity and their work, please visit their homepage: https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/

Each year, Stars from all over the world perform on stage at the Royal Albert Hall to raise money to support the charity's work.

This year, Ed Sheeran was one of them. He said: "When Noel asked me to play last year, I couldn't as I was touring in Australia. I promised him and Roger that if they wanted me another time, I'd be there, so here I am! I'm the same age as some of the people the charity helps and it's a real honour to be asked. I hope we raise lots of money and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust."

Opening act for Ed was the amazing - and can I say very handsome - Passenger. Everyone knew his No 1 Hit Single "Let Her Go" so I was quite excited to hear more from him. Passenger (aka Michael Rosenberg) revealed his new song "Whispers" and performed songs from his 2012 album including "Holes" and "Let Her Go"-

Ed opened the concert with "Give Me Love" - it was the simple moments that shone the brightest. He sang every song so beautifully that I couldn't help but shred a few tears. And when he sang "Heart's on Fire", a duet with Passenger, my love for him as well as Passenger just grew bigger. It was outstanding.
His Cover of Nina Simone's "Be My  Husband" was a bit surprising but as usual - he was amazing!!
He also perforemd a new track of his second album (which is out now by the way^^) called "Tenerife Sea" for the first time along with another new song called "Take It Back Now".

One of my favourite songs of Ed is also "I See Fire" of the movie "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug".
"It's difficult performing a song like this", he joked. "Can you relate to it as an audience? I certainly can - I've spent my life looking like a Hobbit." He is quite the jokester, isn't he? :)

Ed Sheeran also explained that this would be one of the last times he would play many of the songs he was playing at that time, as his new album is out right now. Therefore, I was of course delighted when he sang his "old" songs including Lego House, A Team, Drunk, You Need Me I Don't Need You and many more. I felt so special being there, listening to his beautiful voice and just seeing him standing a few metres in front of me.

The show featured a short film about the work of Teenage Cancer Trust by Shane Meadows and Mark Herbert. The film can be viewed here: Shane Meadows and Mark Herbert's Teenage Cancer Trust film

I personally think it is very important to be educated about cancer. Of course everybody knows about this disease but there is still so much more we do not know.

Anyways, I can not force someone to donate but I can only hope.

Bath

                                       Bath

We used the first day of March to visit a historical, beautiful city in the ceremonial county of Somerset.

Its theatres, museums and other cultural venues have helped to make it a big centre for tourism.
Whatever you like doing, you can do it in Bath. It has dozens of museums and its streets are a living museum of Georgian architecture. You’re interested in history? The amazingly complete remains of The Roman Baths and the Victorian restoration are still fed by water from one of Bath’s three hot springs.

Our main reason for visiting this city was “The Roman Baths”.

After finally arriving in Bath, we walked around the city centre for a while and then decided to start the sightseeing with the Roman Baths. Even though we had to pay around 13pounds to go in there but it was totally worth it. I do not know how to begin so I will show you a few pictures.

Thanks to the audioguide we learned soo much about the building in general as well as the city. I can not stop recommending everybody to go there!
Bath is such a beautiful city!

After the visit in the museum we walked to the famous Royal Crescent. Bath has eight crescents. But the amazing Royal Crescent is the finest - a world famous icon and the city's most desirable location.

After eating our lunch on a bank and enjoying the nice weather as well as the nice view, we decided to go back to the city centre and shop a bit, before taking the train back home.

Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul - known as Bath Abbey

Even though it was a long day, it was absolutely worth it. I would LOVE to go back to Bath and spend the day in this lovely city. If you come to England, please pay a visit to Bath. I promise you, you will not regret it!
