At the end of March we decided to meet up and have a nice evening at my friend's house Marine. Justyna and I visited her in the afternoon with two bottles of wine and cooked pasta together.
No, I am not drunk, I was singing..
And let me kiss youuu ☺
While Marine was cooking pasta - she didn't let us help her - Justyna and I decided to put on some nice music and dance and sing along. As both of us like a certain boyband Marine does not like, we turned up the volume and annoyed our lovely friend. Needless to say she was not happy but still let us have our fun because she loves us sooo much (I know you do, Marine ^^).
After eating and helping to put everything in the dishwasher, we decided to go out for a walk and take some pictures as Justyna urgently wanted to change her profile picture.
Even though we didn't do much more, it was one of my favourite days - just because we had fun together.
A few days later, it was teh 24th of March. You may think it was an ordinary Monday, but let me tell you something: it wasn't.
For many years now, it was my wish to go on a Ed Sheeran concert and I am so happy to announce (well, not announce but just tell you^^) that this year, it finally became true!
Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity dedicated to young adults with cancer. They bring young people with cancer together so they can be treated together and educate other people about cancer. If you are interested or want to know more about the charity and their work, please visit their homepage: https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/
Each year, Stars from all over the world perform on stage at the Royal Albert Hall to raise money to support the charity's work.
This year, Ed Sheeran was one of them. He said: "When Noel asked me to play last year, I couldn't as I was touring in Australia. I promised him and Roger that if they wanted me another time, I'd be there, so here I am! I'm the same age as some of the people the charity helps and it's a real honour to be asked. I hope we raise lots of money and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust."
Opening act for Ed was the amazing - and can I say very handsome - Passenger. Everyone knew his No 1 Hit Single "Let Her Go" so I was quite excited to hear more from him. Passenger (aka Michael Rosenberg) revealed his new song "Whispers" and performed songs from his 2012 album including "Holes" and "Let Her Go"-
Ed opened the concert with "Give Me Love" - it was the simple moments that shone the brightest. He sang every song so beautifully that I couldn't help but shred a few tears. And when he sang "Heart's on Fire", a duet with Passenger, my love for him as well as Passenger just grew bigger. It was outstanding.
His Cover of Nina Simone's "Be My Husband" was a bit surprising but as usual - he was amazing!!
He also perforemd a new track of his second album (which is out now by the way^^) called "Tenerife Sea" for the first time along with another new song called "Take It Back Now".
One of my favourite songs of Ed is also "I See Fire" of the movie "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug".
"It's difficult performing a song like this", he joked. "Can you relate to it as an audience? I certainly can - I've spent my life looking like a Hobbit." He is quite the jokester, isn't he? :)
Ed Sheeran also explained that this would be one of the last times he would play many of the songs he was playing at that time, as his new album is out right now. Therefore, I was of course delighted when he sang his "old" songs including Lego House, A Team, Drunk, You Need Me I Don't Need You and many more. I felt so special being there, listening to his beautiful voice and just seeing him standing a few metres in front of me.
The show featured a short film about the work of Teenage Cancer Trust by Shane Meadows and Mark Herbert. The film can be viewed here: Shane Meadows and Mark Herbert's Teenage Cancer Trust film
I personally think it is very important to be educated about cancer. Of course everybody knows about this disease but there is still so much more we do not know.
Anyways, I can not force someone to donate but I can only hope.
Ocean full of love ♥
